Private input
Autocomplete and search submissions use POST requests. A successful lookup navigates to a stable public-data slug selected from the published dataset, not a query-string copy of the text you typed.
Privacy
No account or email is required. The free search uses public aggregate Census files. Raw form and autocomplete input is not sent to product analytics, placed in query-string URLs, or written by application logging code.

A surname does not reliably determine a person's ancestry, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or culture. This product makes none of those claims.
Vercel Web Analytics measures pageviews. Before events are sent, query strings and fragments are removed and surname-bearing result, comparison, and share paths are replaced with route templates. No custom surname event or search-history store is used.
The Census surname files contain national aggregate publications, not personal records. This site does not ask who a search concerns and does not connect a surname result to a person.
Canonical result pages use normalized public dataset slugs and may be present in deployment request logs before the analytics redaction described above. Sharing and comparison routes remain noindex.
